Throughout history, wars have been fought primarily over land, natural resources and religion....and in Americas case, the principles of Freedom and liberty. It seems that today there is an uncanny confluence of 3 out of 4 of these causes. We could be witnessing a perfect storm in the making. In this blog, I've been warning about a potential war with Iran. Let's follow a logical chain of theoretical events. If Iran is attacked by Israel, this presents a serious problem for Syria, Hesbollah and Hamas. If Iran , their primary sponsor is at risk of being neutered, one could conclude that it would spell the beginning of the end for these 3 regimes. I think the result of this would be an all out attack on Israel, the likes of which we have never seen. If you can accept this premise, you have to take the next step and ask yourself, what effect this would have on America?
A crippled Iran, an all out war in the heart of Israel, Lebanon, Syria and Palestine, an American economy Shocked by astronomical increases in oil prices, The entire Arab world forced to take sides and countries like Russia and China weighing their strategic options in the face of world calamity. All of this is very possible... and frightening. If our recent problems with patriotic resolve are any indication of how we will react to such a situation, I am not totally encouraged. I do however reserve a place in my heart and mind that America can rise to any situation, this has been the case in the past, but are we the strong America of the past. Can we bring the Democrats back home to the party of J.F.K......... I suppose we will all find out soon.
