McCain dropped the ball on claiming the energy mantle. For some reason the McCain campaign believes in half hearted communication, kind of like The Bush Administration. We all know about the less than stellar communications of our current administration, but why is McCain following in those footsteps. Although I love the two recent ads about Obama, ("celeb" and "The One") , The ability to cement an issue seems to elude the campaign. McCain needs to State his unequivocal positions early and often until they are clear to everyone especially those who don't follow politics closely). His problem is less about the message and more about method. The fact that McCain has a comprehensive energy plan with a name and a website and all the trappings, but no one knows about it, is proof of my theory. The fact that Obama feels comfy getting into the Oil drilling column, shows that Mcain has left space for him there. Claim your stake, firmly and loudly, and Obama will look even more ridiculous trying to play catch-up. If you need advice on how to do this, just follow your own communication strategy on national security and the military surge... we all know where you stand on that!! Be firm, be smart, and claim your stake!........."You're welcome" John.
